Schering-Plough inaugurates office

Schering-Plough Canada Inc. inaugurated a new Canadian head office on the TransCanada Highway in Kirkland. The 80,000-square-foot project was built to the tenant's specifications by Brocolini Construction Inc. Schering Plough has signed a 15-year lease, valued at $18.5 million with Brocolini. The office building is the third Schering-Plough facility in Montreal. The firm opened its doors locally 81 years ago and also has a manufacturing facility in Pointe Claire and a distribution centre in Kirkland. It has 875 employees in Canada, including 550 in Quebec. The company develops, manufactures and markets a variety of prescription, consumer and animal health products, the best known of which is Remicade, used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease and several other ailments.
