After having successfully design-built the original 74,000 square foot facility in 2003, the new European owners of the gelatin producing plant (Weishardt International http://www.weishardt.fr/) have entrusted Broccolini to design-build a 17,000 square foot expansion of the building to house new packaging operations, increased warehousing capabilities, separate chemical storage area as well as significant retrofit process related work within the original building in order to accommodate their proprietary process.
As in the initial phase of the construction, the expansion phase continues to benefit from Broccolini's Industry recognized adaptability and flexibility to working within the owner's program and fast tracked process development sequence, essentially shortening the overall construction cycle.
Weishardt, a world player as a gelatine manufacturer, established in 1839, offers a complete range of quality gelatines for traditional purposes and also for the development of new products in the food processing industry (confectionery, dairy products, health foods, low-fat products, meat industry...) and in the pharmaceutical industry (hard and soft capsules, micro encapsulation...).
The expansion project valued over $3M is expected to be turned over in the late part of 2006.
