Construction Starts on The Riv, Delivering 350+ Purpose-Built Rental Units to Toronto's Downtown East

TORONTO, ON, August 17, 2026 — Broccolini has officially broken ground on The Riv, a 37-storey purpose-built rental building in Toronto's downtown east. City officials, consultants, trade partners, and the project team gathered on site to mark the construction kick-off.

With shovels in the ground at River and Queen, Broccolini's construction team is now mobilizing to deliver over 350 purpose-built rental units to Toronto's downtown-east corridor. The building will incorporate a geothermal energy system and include a new privately owned public space (POPS) as part of the broader development.

Broccolini looks forward to welcoming future residents into their new homes, with completion targeted for 2029.
