Broccolini partnered with Mountain Equipment Co-op (now Mountain Equipment Company) to expand its retail footprint across Ontario and Quebec—delivering seven stores, including the flagship location on Queen Street in downtown Toronto. More than just high-profile builds, these projects reflected a shared commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community values.

To meet MEC’s ambitious environmental goals, we embraced mass timber construction, integrating glue-laminated (glu-lam) beams , structurally insulated panels (SIPs), eco-roofs, and high-efficiency systems. These stores were designed to reduce carbon impact, maximize energy performance, and bring warmth and character to the retail experience—proving that commercial spaces can be both high-performing and deeply respectful of the environment.
