Maplesoft Centre Wellspring

The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation chose Broccolini to manage the construction of a residential building designed for people coping with cancer, and their families. The foundations' very special project, named Wellspring Ottawa Maplesoft Centre, is adjacent to Cancer Survivors Park in Ottawa.

The Maplesoft Centre represents a unique complement to medical treatments for cancer because it offers patients and their families and friends the emotional, psychological and practical support they need.

Designed to be very welcoming, the two-storey building with basement occupies 10,000 sq.ft. The new complex offers mutual aid workshops, discussion groups, individual monitoring, as well as other elements of the special program established by the Foundation.

The principal mandate entrusted to Broccolini was to make sure that construction was as economical as possible so that any money not used could be invested in the Maplesoft Centre's programs for the fight against cancer. Broccolini therefore decided to take a different approach in managing the project, namely by inviting all of its partners and personnel to rally for the cause, and to get involved by donating materials and manpower. Construction of the Maplesoft Centre began in August 2010 and finished in February 2011. Broccolini Construction was extremely proud to take part in this project for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and thereby contribute to Canadian initiatives to fight the disease.
