Quartier Laval Phase 2

Quartier Laval is an impressive commercial development located in the heart of the City of Laval. The key stores of this mega centre include Winners and Sears Decor™, among others. In 2007, Broccolini successfully completed the first phase of the new open-air strip mall, Quartier Laval, located on Le Corbusier Boulevard. In 2008, the second phase of the project saw an additional 60,000 sq.ft. of surface area added to the existing and already occupied 185,000 sq.ft. The Quartier Laval building is designed to accommodate three commercial tenants. The new retailers are JYSK (furniture and home accessories), Golf Town (golf products) and Indigo (books, music and a Starbucks café). The one-storey building's exterior envelope consists of brick, glazing and aluminum siding. The Quartier Laval project was a challenge because of its vast surface area and its proximity to Montreal's Metro infrastructures. The construction required an advanced level of expertise because the site is situated directly above the tunnels, which made it necessary to coordinate all operations with the Société de Transport de Montreal and the Agence Métropolitaine de Transport. Broccolini's work was also carried out with the cooperation of the City of Laval's Urban Planning Committee. The second phase was completed in May 2009.
